10 Companies That Let You Work Remotely From Anywhere

[ad_1]

Millions of Americans spent the pandemic working from home for the first time in their lives. And many of them fell head over heels in love with the experience.

If you want to work from home, you have plenty of choices. A growing number of companies now offer this option. However, up to 95% of remote jobs include a geographic requirement, such as that you live in a particular city, state or country, according to FlexJobs.

Recently, that subscription-based job board — which specializes in part-time, remote, flexible-schedule and freelance work — highlighted 30 companies that offer remote work with few or no location requirements.

Companies that made the list had the highest volume of job postings in 2021 that met the following criteria:

  • No location restrictions for remote work
  • No requirement to spend time in an office
  • Either a full-time or part-time schedule

The top 10 companies on the FlexJobs list are:

  • Wikimedia Foundation
  • Achieve Test Prep
  • Coalition Technologies
  • Chainlink Labs
  • Elastic
  • Cactus Communications
  • Hopin
  • Toptal
  • Automattic
  • SelfDecode

To see the full list, go to the FlexJobs website.

FlexJobs notes that most of these companies are concentrated in the computer/IT, education, marketing and financial industries. If you want one of these jobs, prepare to put your best foot forward. In a press release, Brie Reynolds, career development manager at FlexJobs, says:

“However, due to their immense popularity, these jobs can be extremely competitive to land, even in a hot job seeker’s market, so job seekers need to be thorough and diligent in their application materials.”

How to find a great work-from-home job

The desire to work from home has become more widespread during the pandemic. In fact, 54% of people who work from home at least part of the time now want to continue to do so, according to a recent Gallup Poll. And 37% would prefer to work from home exclusively.

Meanwhile, a startlingly low percentage — 9% — want to return to working in the office five days a week.

If you count yourself among the “work in my PJs” crowd, take a look at the openings listed on FlexJobs. All the listings there are for part-time, remote or freelance roles — or for positions that otherwise offer some type of flexible working condition.
