Donald Trump Enters the NFT Market

Social media platform Parler announced the launch of its new premium NFT marketplace DeepRedSky.

The platform’s inaugural non-fungible token collection features former United States President Donald Trump, and comes under name of ‘Official CryptoTRUMP Club’.

Parler claims that DeepRedSky is a game-changing NFT marketplace that will redefine the NFT experience for collectors and creators alike. The platform aims to deliver an engaging and simplified user experience to connect fans and collectors with a wide range of brands from politics and media, to art and sports.

The company’s CEO George Farmer, says that the launch and development of an NFT marketplace is a necessary step in achieving Parler’s mission of becoming a frontrunner in Web 3.0 technologies. The social media app currently hosts over 16 million users.

Parler launched DeepRedSky on the blockchain, and the company has stated that collectors will be able to purchase NFTs via credit card and receive them through any Solana compatible cryptocurrency wallet.

250 CryptoTRUMPS Issued

For its marketplace debut, Parler has chosen to issue an inaugural NFT collection of 250 tokenized images of the former 45th United States President.

The collection presents each of the one-of-a-kind ‘CryptoTRUMPs‘ in various settings and elements, with different associated rarity categorizations such as “extremely rare”. Collectors may choose from laser-eye, military-dressed, crowned or a variety of other Mr. Trumps according to their preference.

All 250 CryptoTRUMPS are on sale for a fixed $2,750 price, 8 of which were sold the day after launch.

Parler says that DeepRedSky will mint a total of 10,000 Donald Trump’s NFTs.

Melania Trump Set the Tone

Although they come in bulk, Donald Trump’s NFTs are not the first from the presidential family. Former First Lady Melania Trump preceded her husband by issuing her own NFT collection in January 2022.

The collection, called the ‘Head of State Collection‘, was also minted on the Solana blockchain and sold for $180,000 (1,800 SOL) two weeks later, though as crypto experts found when later tracing the sale, the former First Lady seems to have bought it herself.
