Eurozone producer prices hit record as inflation spreads beyond energy

Financial Times/Martin Arnold/6-2-2022

“Eurozone producer prices have surged at the fastest pace since the launch of the single currency more than two decades ago, prompting central bankers to warn that inflationary pressures are becoming too broad as well as too high.”

USAGOLD note: Some see the severe inflation problem as a Eurozone-only phenomenon. Others see it as the shape of things to come for other economies including the United States. It is just hitting faster in Europe because of its direct connections with Russia for energy needs. You’re not seeing things, wholesale inflation in Europe is approaching the 40% level.
