(Reuters) -Tellurian said on Monday Octávio Simões has resigned as chief executive officer of the LNG developer, a fortnight after it said it would not renew or extend his employment term beyond June 5.

Simões, who resigned on March 15, has transitioned to an advisory role and will report to the president of the company.

Samik Mukherjee, executive vice president of Driftwood Assets, has been appointed as president of Tellurian (NYSE:) Investments.

The change is the latest in the executive reshuffle at Tellurian. Late last year, it ousted chairman and co-founder, Charif Souki, amid its efforts to keep its Driftwood liquefied (LNG) export project alive.

Tellurian has spent nearly seven years advancing its still-incomplete Driftwood LNG export plant.

The company also said it could sell up to $366.1 million shares from time to time with distribution agency Virtu Americas.
